Meredith visits and chastises his new nurse, Nadeem, for leaving the television on talk shows when her father preferred the news. She tells her father that Tom has Lewy Body Dementia and that he may yet outlive him. He later sees Meredith being shot on live television at the O'Hare airport redevelopment groundbreaking.[1]
